Hello humans,
As a feline, there are few things in life that bring me more joy than a good box. You may have noticed that we cats seem to have an unexplainable attraction to these simple, rectangular structures. But have you ever stopped to wonder why? Let me enlighten you.
Security: Boxes provide us with a sense of safety and security. It’s a cozy little space that we can call our own and retreat to whenever we feel the need for some alone time.
Comfort: Have you ever noticed how most boxes are just the right size for us to curl up in? It’s like they were made just for us! And the cardboard material is surprisingly comfortable.
Warmth: Boxes can also act as insulators, trapping in our body heat and keeping us warm and toasty. This is especially appreciated during those chilly winter months.
Entertainment: Boxes are like a playground for us cats. We can jump in and out, hide, peek out, and generally have a good time. Who needs expensive toys when you have a box?
Hunting: Speaking of playtime, boxes also make great hunting spots. We can pounce and attack imaginary prey from the safety of our cardboard fort.
Stimulation: Boxes provide us with mental stimulation too. We can investigate every nook and cranny, scratch the sides, and try to figure out how to get inside the closed ones.
Scratching: Speaking of scratching, boxes make great scratching posts. The rough texture is perfect for our claws, and it’s much more satisfying than scratching up your furniture.
Hiding: Sometimes we just need a break from the world. A box gives us the perfect place to hide away and recharge our batteries.
Observation: Boxes also make great observation posts. We can perch on top and watch the world go by without anyone noticing.
Instinct: Lastly, there’s just something in our feline DNA that draws us to boxes. It’s an instinctual attraction that we can’t quite explain, but we know it when we see it.
So there you have it, humans. Ten perfectly good reasons why we cats love boxes. Next time you see us lounging in a cardboard container, don’t be surprised. We’re just enjoying one of life’s simple pleasures.
Until next time,
Your feline friend, Bettsy
